Sandro Perruzza, B.Sc.
Chief Executive Officer
Sandro Perruzza joined OSPE as CEO in July 2014. A strategic thinker and innovative leader, Sandro holds over ten years of executive management experience. Sandro is recognized for his ability to build high-growth organizations. He specializes in increasing revenue, developing innovative strategy, improving client-services, and building corporate government relations through a collaborative approach.
In his previous role as Chief of Client Services at Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS), Sandro provided leadership to over 150 professional staff, including five Directors and one Vice President. During his time at WSPS, Sandro was a sitting member of the Ministry of Labour's Prevention Operations Forum and on the Board of Directors of Minerva, which worked to embed health and safety curriculum into University business and engineering programs across Canada.
Prior to joining WSPS, Sandro worked at the Ontario Service Safety Alliance for over 11 years where he served as Executive Director of Corporate Development, Acting Vice President of Client Services and Director of Sales.
Sandro holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from McMaster University.
Valeria is responsible for managing the office administration, human resources and governance functions of the Society as well as the production of key OSPE-sponsored events, including the annual Ontario Professional Engineers Awards gala.
Valeria has been with the Society for more than 13 years and has expertise in finance, administration and event planning. Prior to OSPE, she worked in banking, and sat on the McLellan Community Child Care Board of Directors in the position of Treasurer.
Baijul Shukla, MBA
Director, Membership and Strategic Partners
Baijul joined OSPE in 2013 and is responsible for developing marketing strategies and membership plan development. He also is responsible for increasing member value by maintaining and building affinity partnerships and growing OSPE’s presence in the business community.
Baijul has experience in marketing, membership strategies, sales and relationship building. He has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and an MBA in Executive Management.
Manager, Strategic Communications and Public Affairs
Carolyn’s role at OSPE is to elevate the understanding and appreciation of the engineering profession in the media and online. She is the in-house editor who works to effectively communicate OSPE’s advocacy activities and achievements through the Voice – our quarterly magazine – and the Society Notes blog. She also helps promote the voice of engineers in Ontario by building relationships and sharing stories with journalists.
Carolyn has worked in mining, public relations and news. She has a degree in Journalism from Ryerson University and a Post Graduate diploma in Public Relations from Simon Fraser University.
