Funded by Status of Women Canada, OSPE’s pilot mentorship program to support female engineering graduates has organized the following Making Connections event. Though this event is geared to women in engineering, anyone is welcome to attend.

Whether you’re a student, recent graduate or a P.Eng, join us for this dynamic day where we’ll delve into a choice of two workshops. The day will also begin and end with networking opportunities with colleagues in the room.

*Breakfast and lunch will be provided to attendees during the event.

Agenda for the Day:

Registration and Light Breakfast (9:00am - 9:30am)

Making Connections: Getting to Know the Room - Facilitated Networking (9:30am - 10:30am)

Workshop and Light Lunch (10:45am - 2:30pm)

  • Option 1: Accelerating Results through Difficult Conversations Workshop

Those who embrace conflict as an opportunity to build understanding and better relationships experience greater personal and professional success, but managing conflict is not easy. Gain insight into your own brain based emotional triggers and acquire the tools you need to productively manage difficult, conflict-prone conversations.

  • Option 2: Imposter to Authority Workshop

Despite external evidence of their competence, those exhibiting the imposter syndrome remain convinced that they are frauds and do not deserve the success they have achieved. In this workshop, attendees will identify the limiting beliefs that are keeping them from activating and actualizing their potential by taking a deeper look into the 12 Lies of the Impostor Complex (and one Truth).

*Attendees will be asked to select one of the workshops above

Networking and Closing Remarks (2:30pm - 3:30pm)

Target Audience:

  • Female and male engineering mentors
  • Female engineering graduates

Contributing Partners:
Ontario Network of Women in Engineering (ONWiE)
Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), PEO York Chapter and PEO Grand River Chapter
