Membership Refund Policy

OSPE offers a 30-day money back guarantee from the time of activating or renewing your Ontario Society of Professional Engineers membership. If you cancel within 30 days of your activation or renewal date, a refund will be based on your most recent membership(s) payment to OSPE, issued less any: discounts, gift cards, vouchers, coupons, credit card fees, or claims you have made within the first 30 days of your membership. Membership cancellations can be made up to 90 days from the day of payment.  A pro-rated refund will be applicable based on the number of months remaining on a 12 month membership, less a $65 administration fee (whichever is greater).  Refund applications for cancelled memberships will not be accepted after the 90 day period.  OSPE reserves the right to cancel a membership, in which case no portion of the membership fee is refundable.  Please note that the cancellation of your membership with OSPE will effect your ability to utilize enrollment benefits, including access to discounts through The Personal, BMS Group, etc.

Course and Event Cancellation Policies

OSPE reserves the right to cancel a course or event no later than seven (7) business days prior to the course or event start date. If the course or event is cancelled by OSPE, a full refund will be issued. OSPE is not responsible for travel arrangements and accommodation costs, or any associated cancellation/change fees resulting from a course or event cancellation. Please contact us at 1-866-763-1654 to confirm that the course or event is running before making arrangements for travel and accommodations.


Course Refund

If you wish to withdraw from a course, you must provide OSPE with written notification (see below for details). Refunds as a result of withdrawal are processed according to the following criteria:

  • At least ten (10) business days prior to the course start date: a full refund minus a $50 administration fee.
  • Between two and nine (2-9) business days prior to the course start date: a 50% refund or a $50 administration fee (whichever is greater).
  • Withdrawal 24 hours before the start date of the course: no refund will be provided.

Event Refund

If you wish to withdraw from an event, you must provide OSPE with written notification (see below for details). Refunds as a result of withdrawal are processed according to the following criteria:

  • At least ten (10) business days in prior to the event start date: a full refund minus an administration fee of 10% or $5, whichever is greater.
  • Between one and nine (1-9) business days prior to the event start date: no refund will be provided.

Special Events – Excluded from Refund Policies

Please note that 'Nothin' But NEM' and 'Celebrate National Engineering Month with the Ottawa Senators' or any other Special Event are excluded from all refund policies listed.

Requests must outline the nature of the request, the date, method of payment and contact information including e-mail, primary phone number and home address. 
Those who fail to attend the course or event, or those who withdraw without providing written notification as described above, will be subject to the full fee of the course or event.
