Help Ensure Safe Drinking Water in Ontario: Join an SPC

OSPE has a history of active involvement in various government drinking water initiatives, particularly those related to the Clean Water Act. As strong supporters of the development of Source Protection Committees (SPC), committees responsible for providing source protection plans and assessing drinking water sources in regions across Ontario, OSPE is witnessing the fruits of its labour.

OSPE has been urging the provincial government to include regulation requirements that will see professional engineers on every one of Ontario’s Source Protection Committees. Licensed professional engineers make excellent members as they possess the technical expertise, regulatory knowledge and financial and economic know-how to enhance the effectiveness of these committees. The Society continues its efforts to get this message out through direct correspondence with each municipality and Conservation Authority in the province...

…and now engineers have an opportunity!

The Toronto and Region Source Protection Authority is inviting engineers to join the CTC Source Protection Committee to help ensure safe, clean drinking water. Applicants are encouraged to apply by visiting http://www.ctcswp.ca/.
