Engineering expertise vital to Ontario’s
long-term energy planning

OSPE was front and center this month on the energy file with
a recent submission to the newly created Ontario Power Authority’s
call for input on the province’s long-term electricity
plan. Developed with input by OSPE’s Energy Working Group,
the submission outlined several key areas including demand estimation,
energy conservation, energy supply, and particularly the use
of engineering expertise in the development of the plan... |

OSPE delighted with government intervention
in Hydro One dispute |

On September 16th, OSPE thanked the Minister of Energy and Government
House Leader, the Honourable Dwight Duncan, MPP, for stepping
in and helping to send the Hydro One labour dispute to the arbitration
process. In a letter to the Minister, OSPE President and Chair,
Chris Cragg, P.Eng. praised the government for bringing an unbiased,
third party into the equation and for accepting the mediator’s
recommendation... |
