Bill 100 - OSPE recommendations focus on critical role of professional engineers

On August 24, 2004 OSPE presented recommendations on Bill 100, the Electricity Restructuring Act, 2004 to the Provincial Government’s Standing Committee on Social Policy. The submission focused on the need for stability, true value pricing, a renewed focus on conservation in the electricity sector and the importance of including professional engineers on the advisory committees suggested in the proposed legislation.

Quality Based Selection (QBS) high on OSPE Government Relations agenda

Over the past month, OSPE representatives have been busy meeting with government officials on the critical Quality Based Selection (QBS) issue. On August 26, OSPE President and Chair, Annette Bergeron, M.B.A., P.Eng, and OSPE CEO, Sharon Glover, M.B.A., met with David Caplan, Ontario's Minister of Infrastructure Renewal, to follow-up on the Society's response to the government's discussion paper, "Building a Better Tomorrow."
