Ontario Professional Engineers Awards
OPEA
Recognizes the Very Best in Engineering
On November
10, 2007 OSPE and PEO celebrated 60 years of engineering
excellence by co-hosting the annual Ontario Professional
Engineers Awards (OPEA) Gala at The Carlu in downtown Toronto.
This special evening recognized the very best in engineering
ingenuity, management, and commitment to profession and
community, by awarding nine very deserving professional
engineers with these prestigious awards.

awards ceremony was co-hosted by Michael Monette, MBA, EDP,
P.Eng., OSPE President and Chair, and Walter Bilanski, P.Eng.,
PEO President. Jeanette Southwood, P.Eng. Awards Committee
Chair introduced each awardee. Bringing greetings was Mr.
David Zimmer, MPP for Willowdale, who spoke of the various
achievements the engineering profession has enjoyed over
the past year.

Gold medal, and spoke about her achievements in engineering,

second annual Engineers’ Art Show & Sale was also
held the same evening, just prior to the awards dinner and
ceremony. A portion of proceeds from the many pieces of
art sold during the Show went to Engineers Without Borders,
OSPE’s Charity of Choice.
OSPE
wishes to extend its most sincere congratulations to all
the deserving winners of these prestigious awards!

with us this year at the Art Show & Sale.
