On
December 12, 2002, the Society's Board of Directors
approved the final draft of the Society's much anticipated
Advocacy Plan. The process of drafting this plan
began with the 2002 Assembly Weekend, held in Kingston,
Ontario on November 1 and 2, 2002.
At the Assembly, a group of
approximately 100 engineers and students from
across the province gathered to evaluate research,
share ideas and set the advocacy agenda for the
Society. Attendees received a draft copy of the
Plan via email for their input within 10 days
of the close of the Assembly, and their feedback
was reflected in the final draft presented to
the Society's Board of Directors in early December.
