Toronto
Regional Launch
Over
150 engineers “Get Networking” in
downtown Toronto
On Thursday, November
6, engineers, CEOs, politicians and other guests
had an opportunity to “Get Networking”
at a special reception celebrating the Ontario
Society of Professional Engineers’ official
Toronto launch.
Along with the Society's Board of Directors, the
"who's who" of Toronto's engineering,
science and technology community were on hand
to help the Society launch our operations in the
area. Attendees connected with colleagues and
learned about the Society’s activities in
the region at the historic Design Exchange in
downtown Toronto.
The highlight of the evening was a keynote address
from award-winning broadcast journalist Wendy
Mesley, discussing how news is made – or
not made. Addressing engineers specifically, she
explained that it is up to us to be persistent
and to bring forward interesting stories about
what engineers are doing.
“You can’t get media attention just
because you deserve it,” Ms. Mesley told
attendees. “You have to go out and seek
it.”
