Engineers' Foundation for Education

The Society is proud to support the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education. The Foundation grants entrance scholarships, valued at $1,000, to one male and one female student at each of Ontario's 13 accredited university engineering programs. Scholarships valued at $1,250 are also available to students in the subsequent years of their undergraduate programs. These scholarships vary by the size of the undergraduate student population at your respective university.
The Foundation also awards a gold medal to the top engineering graduate of each accredited university program.

For more information on the Foundation for Education scholarships or gold medal, contact your university awards office or visit the Foundation on-line at www.penged.on.ca.

The Benevolent Fund

A second and lesser known role of the Foundation is to administer the Professional Engineers Benevolent Fund. This Fund was established to provide temporary financial assistance to engineers in financial need. Since its inception in 1986, the Fund has helped improve the lives of more than 75 engineers in their time of need. Donations to the Foundation will help ensure the Benevolent Fund can also meet future demand.

The newest reason to donate is to help support an innovative scholarship that will help an outstanding engineering student volunteer with Engineers Without Borders. Founded by two of Ontario's recent engineering graduates, EWB helps communities in developing nations gain access to the technology they need to improve their lives. EWB relies on senior engineering students as unpaid volunteers for overseas assignments. This new scholarship recognizes the contribution made by Ontario engineering students in helping to improve life for those in need worldwide.

The Foundation for Education needs your support today. Donations are tax deductible and can be made quickly and easily by downloading a Donation Form from the Foundation website at www.penged.on.ca. Thanks for your support!
