The Society
held a very busy Assembly weekend in Kingston, Ontario on
November 1st and 2nd. The weekend kicked off with an event
launching the Society's Eastern Ontario Region attended by
hundreds of local engineers and students. Guests included
The Hon. Don Boudria, Federal Government House Leader and
Secretary of State and the Hon. Peter Milliken, Speaker of
the House of Commons, in addition to provincial and municipal
political representatives and other local dignitaries.

The next
day saw 100 engineers and students from across the province
gather in a Kingston Hotel to evaluate research, share ideas
and set the advocacy agenda for the Society. View the day's

A draft
of the Advocacy Plan was worked on by Assembly delegates and
presented to the Society's Board of Directors for approval
on December 12, 2002. The approved Advocacy Plan and 2002
Research will guide the Society's Advocacy agenda in the months
