OSPE
Annual General Meeting - Tuesday May 6, 2008
The OSPE Annual
General Meeting took place at the CNIB in Toronto on May 6
and featured guest speaker Mike Wise, a Queen’s Park
journalist with the CBC, plus a networking session exclusively
for engineers. Mr. Wise spoke eloquently about how best to
approach the Government in order to deliver your message,
and his speech was especially insightful for OSPE’s
PAN (Political Action Network) volunteers.
Several special guests attended the AGM, with greetings being
delivered by Kim Allen, CEO and Registrar of Professional
Engineers Ontario, Chantal Guay, CEO of Engineers Canada,
and Etienne Couture, President of Le Réseau des Ingénieurs
du Québec.
Michael Monette, OSPE President and Chair, spoke about OSPE’s
accomplishments over the past year, including strengthening
relationships with partner organizations, and advancing the
public perception of engineers and engineering.
After the AGM, the new OSPE Board for 2008 – 2009 officially
met for the first time.
